Consolidated Engineering Laboratories (CEL) is performing testing and inspection services for a new 630,000 SF office building on the corner of 5th and Howard Streets.

The 25-story, mixed-use building includes office space, two underground parking levels, and a ground level retail space. The project includes sustainable concepts in design, construction and operations and had targeted a minimum of LEED Gold certification.

CEL’s scope of work includes both on-site and off-site inspections, shoring, reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, floor flatness and floor levelness, fireproofing, firestopping, and grace waterproofing inspections. Shop fabrication of structural steel was performed and inspected in Thailand, Indonesia, Phoenix, Arizona and Stockton, California.

CEL also provided curtain wall fabrication inspection in China and the steel for the art sculptures was fabricated and inspected in Germany.

Project is slated for completion in late 2021.
