Construction of Berths 57, 58, and 59 involved 50' widening of the Oakland Estuary. Consolidated Engineering Laboratories (CEL) performed observation of removal of existing deck components and dredging. CEL performed observation and inspection of new levy shoreline and rip rap replacement. CEL provided inspection and materials testing including fabrication of specially designed steel core post- tensioned concrete piles ranging from 58 to 134 feet long. CEL provided observation and special inspections of below-grade deep mix soil cement structural wall, and provided materials testing and special inspection services for the 2000-ft. long cast-in-place concrete pier.
