OAKLAND ARENA RENOVATION PROJECT
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA
Consolidated Engineering Laboratories provided special inspection and testing services for the $100
million renovation of the Oakland Arena. While the exterior shell of the building remained in place, all
interior components were completely demolished and rebuilt, with the addition of new luxury skybox
suites. Our scope of services included inspection of precast pile fabrication, precast concrete seating
fabrication, shop and field welding, reinforcing steel and concrete placement inspection, shotcrete testing
and inspection and proof loading of epoxy dowels. We also provided floor flatness and moisture testing
associated with various aspects of this project. There were as many as seven inspectors involved at
any given time. Communication between all parties was kept intact utilizing an e-mail reporting
system for all correspondence.
