PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA

This $14 million seismic retrofit complex is the first project under the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) jurisdiction to have the addition of base isolators. CEL performed shop fabrication inspection and prototype testing for the base isolators at DIS' Sparks, Nevada plant. Structural steel fabrication inspections were performed off site at Concord Iron. Also, CEL provided all field welding inspections associated with this retrofit. Several thousand anchors were installed which CEL performed continuous installation inspection and proofload testing, directed by the OSHPD Inspector of Record, Bill Koenig.
