Consolidated Engineering Laboratories (CEL) provided geotechnical, consultation, testing and
observation, and special inspection and testing services for the San Jose Marriott project. This 28-story
hotel contains 506 beautifully appointed guest rooms and 28 elegant suites. CEL's scope of services
included pile design (driven up to 80 feet in depth), tiebacks, retaining walls, dewatering and grading in
addition to indicator pile PDA testing, production pile driving observation, tieback testing observation and
construction monitoring. Our special inspection and testing services included post-tensioned concrete,
reinforced concrete, architectural precast concrete, shop and field structural steel welding and
fireproofing.
